Not unlike the “whooping cough”, early on only children and the elderly were at risk. But unlike a virus of that nature, it never had a long treatment. The strange illness became more pervasive, affecting adults. There was a 10% mortality rate. Quickly, cities and town began to fall apart. People no longer showed up for work, or school, some never left their homes *

Facilities couldn’t keep up with demand. Eventually, deranged and often violent plague victims roamed unkempt. It was here, that caused nationwide panic and a need for aid relief.
